Short Film

Movement in Stillness explores the role of the artist and the notion of freedom. Through dance in a time of restriction the dancers movement become an act of resistance and healing. Exploring ideas of physical and mental imprisonment both during lockdown but also as an analogy for questioning freedom within our society.

The meditative elements of the choreography represents connection of the human experience, creating a united resistance in a time of uncertainty. The movement is accompanied with prose that invites the audience to reflect upon the way in which we define freedom, in a world that does not offer freedom and equality for all.
